Job Title:
Space Planner and Interior Designer.
About the Role:
This is a critical position for an experienced interior designer to lead on commercial design projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing designs, creating detailed plans, and collaborating with clients and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Design Creation & Implementation:
a. Develop innovative design concepts for commercial spaces, including mood boards and renderings.
b. Translate design ideas into comprehensive plans, ensuring that aesthetic intent aligns with technical feasibility.
c. Collaborate with clients, designers, and vendors to refine and finalize design details.
d. Work closely with MEP engineers to integrate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within interior designs.
e. Produce accurate construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
f. 2D Drawing & Drafting
2. Building Management Submissions:
a. Prepare and submit drawing packages required for approvals from building management authorities.
b. Coordinate with qualified persons (QPs) for submission to relevant authorities.
c. Manage the submission process, tracking progress, and ensuring timely approvals.
3. Project Design Coordination:
a. Coordinate with project teams to integrate architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design elements seamlessly.
b. Collaborate with procurement teams to select feasible materials for design implementation.
c. Ensure that the executed project aligns with design intent and requirements.
4. As-Built Submissions:
a. Complete as-built drawings on schedule, accurately reflecting the final state of the project post-construction.
b. Ensure that as-built submissions comply with industry standards.
Requirements:
1. Possess an accredited Bachelor's or Diploma in Interior Design or an equivalent qualification.
2. Proficiency in a range of design-related software, including Hand Sketch, Sketchup, AutoCAD, and similar tools.
3. Demonstrated experience of at least 1-2 years in commercial design projects, showcasing a strong grasp of technical aspects, such as shop drawings, site surveys, and detailed drawings.
