Overview
We're looking for an experienced
Legal Counsel & Compliance Advisor
to provide legal and compliance support, mainly in areas such as the
Statistics Act ,
PDPA , and data confidentiality. This role helps protect government operations by ensuring compliance with laws and managing legal risks.
Responsibilities
Legal Advice
— Advise on laws including the Statistics Act, PDPA, and data protection.
Review and interpret legislation and guidelines.
Draft and review contracts and legal documents.
Develop strategies to manage legal risks.
Liaise with regulators, agencies, and external counsel.
Compliance
— Create and monitor compliance policies.
Conduct reviews/audits to spot and fix gaps.
Provide training on legal/compliance matters.
Act as the go-to person for compliance issues.
Keep records of compliance actions and legal advice.
Identify and assess legal and compliance risks.
Recommend controls to reduce risk.
Ensure response plans exist for incidents like data breaches.
Requirements
Law degree
from a recognized institution;
Singapore Bar admission preferred
3–5 years
of legal experience, ideally with public sector or data protection focus
Strong knowledge of Singapore laws, especially Statistics Act & PDPA
Skilled in legal analysis, drafting, and communication
Able to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
