Role Overview

As a seasoned payroll operations specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless management of end-to-end payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP Payroll Configuration and Maintenance
  • Configure and maintain SAP HCM Payroll, including wage types, schemas, PCRs, features, and rules.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Time Management, Payroll, and Finance modules.
  • Maintain payroll control records, posting runs, and off-cycle payroll processes.
• Payroll Processing and Support
  • Lead payroll runs (live and simulation) ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage retroactive accounting, arrears, and adjustments.
  • Handle complex payroll scenarios, including terminations, long-term absences, bonuses, and allowances.
• Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure payroll configuration and processes comply with statutory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation changes and update SAP configurations accordingly.
• Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Prepare and execute Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate payroll simulation results, identify anomalies, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end processes, including statutory reporting and submissions.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver payroll solutions.
  • Provide SME guidance on payroll processes, enhancements, and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries, incidents, and change requests.
• Documentation and Training
  • Develop functional specifications, configuration documents, and payroll process SOPs.
  • Conduct training sessions for HR/payroll teams on SAP payroll operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical skills include minimum 4 years of experience in SAP HCM Payroll, with at least 1 full-cycle implementation. Strong hands-on expertise in payroll schemas, PCRs, wage type configuration, off-cycle payroll, and retro calculations are required. Knowledge of SAP Time Management and integration with Payroll is a plus. Experience with Payroll posting to Finance (FI/CO) and familiarity with Payroll Control Center (PCC) are advantages.

Functional knowledge includes in-depth understanding of payroll statutory requirements and reporting. Familiarity with HR processes (hire-to-retire) and their impact on payroll is necessary. Experience with payroll data migration and cutover activities is also beneficial.
