orporate Processes & IT (CPIT) is the internal IT organization for SAP. Our purpose is to CREATE, BUILD, and RUN an intelligent enterprise by providing customer-centric insights and technologies.

A

s a Generative AI Engineer Intern at Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE), you'll join our expansive Enterprise AI Center of Excellence within the Technology Services department. Collaborate with a global team of AI engineers, scientists, and product managers based in Germany, France, and Singapore. This role presents an unparalleled opportunity to thrive in a stimulating, innovative, and continuous learning atmosphere, while playing a pivotal role in shaping the future intelligent enterprise driven by AI.

hat you'll do

W

• ork alongside a team of AI scientist, engineers, product owners, and domain experts.
  A

• ssist the development and deployment of AI solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity.
  A

• ssist the co-development of Large Language Model Platform-as-a-Service with product engineering teams
  A

• ssist the development of scalable, reusable services to support applications powered by Generative AI
  A

• ssist the maintenance of production system to ensure high availability and performance
  E

• xperiment with different Large Language Model deployments, e.g. vLLM, LiteLLM, etc.
  C

• ontribute to platform application development using CAP or Python FastAPI.
  C

• ommunicate with stakeholders to understand internal business processes and challenges.

• xperiment with different techniques (e.g. prompt engineering, fine-tuning, agentic workflows etc).

• tay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and GenAI technologies, and evaluate their potential applications in business processes.

hat you bring

C

• urrently in a Bachelor's or Master's degree course in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any other related field.
  M

• ust be able to commit to a full-time internship employment for a period no shorter than three months.
  P

• roficiency in one or more of these programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
  P

• roficiency in development tools such as Git.
  E

• xperience with Generative AI technical stack (e.g. agent frameworks, RAG, etc.), including integrating and applying them in real world projects.

• xperience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks, specifically LangChain and LlamaIndex.

• trong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently with ownership, and as part of a team with strong sense of responsibilities.

• xcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• roficiency in backend application development using NodeJS or FastAPI is a plus.

• roficiency in frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular is a plus.

• roficiency in deployment tools such as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.

• xperience with SAP UI5 or Open UI5 is a plus.

• xperience with app deployment on SAP Business Technology Platform is a plus.
