PRESCHOOL EDUCATOR

Overview The Preschool Educator effectively creates a secure and quality learning environment for the children through nurturing trusting and respectful relationships with them. He/She enriches children’s learning by co-designing and implementing a developmentally and culturally appropriate curricula, while effectively integrating innovative teaching and learning practices. He/She is proactive and intentional in strengthening partnerships with families and the community, and co-designs collaborative efforts with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal. As an experienced Early Childhood Educator, he/she guides the junior educators in enhancing their professional practice. He/She provides suggestions, ideas to improve professional development in the Centre, while also contributing to the Centre’s culture of collaboration and collegiality. Responsibilities Plan and implement curriculum and programmes, including: Planning developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworks Reviewing results of learning needs assessment Guiding juniors in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworks Customising classroom management strategies Designing quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources Reviewing health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and procedures Identifying potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sector Evaluating documentations of children’s learning and development to better inform planning and teaching Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships, including: Executing communication strategies and policies to foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre Identifying opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure Manage family and community programmes, including: Developing outreach activities to promote the Centre programmes and services Guiding the execution of collaborative projects with families and community stakeholders Evaluating family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements Conduct routine caregiving, including: Reviewing results of caregiving assessment Reviewing caregiving in accordance with standards and procedures Evaluating routine caregiving improvement opportunities Uplift professional practice, including: Co-developing appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools Analysing areas for improvements for professional practice Proposing improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities Promoting the Centre’s vision, mission and values Others, including: Any other duties as and when assigned by the Centre Leader, Deputy Centre Leader and/or Senior Preschool Educator Requirements Technical Competencies: Please refer to SkillsFramework for Early Childhood sector Core Competencies, including: Intermediate adaptability skills to manage change in evolving contexts Intermediate collaboration skills to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to create synergies in working towards shared goals Intermediate communication skills to tailor communication approaches to audience needs and determine suitable methods to convey and exchange information Intermediate problem-solving skills to determine underlying causes of problems and collaborate with other stakeholders to implement and evaluate solutions Intermediate self-management skills to analyse own wellbeing and personal effectiveness to develop strategies to regulate self and build personal brand Strong multi-tasking skill Preferred achievements / characteristics L2 certified with Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent #J-18808-Ljbffr
