This is an exciting opportunity to join the Human Potential Programme Office in BMRC. Human Potential is a new focus area in the expanded Human Health and Potential (HHP) domain in RIE2025, and is a key programme to address a national priority as Singapore is facing persistently low birth rates, a declining workforce and rapidly ageing population. Human capital being Singapore's most valuable resource, it is therefore critical to optimise each individual's potential throughout life.
The Human Potential Programme Office will focus on supporting the Human Potential Steering Committee; oversee and manage the Early Life grant calls; and work with other human potential agencies in the Government and private sectors to coordinate the research and intervention projects in the human potential space.
The incumbent will have opportunities to:

  • Oversee the Human Potential Programme Office in providing secretariat support to the Human Potential Steering Committee and in designing, launching and managing the Early Life grant calls
  • Coordinate the secretariat support to the Human Potential Steering Committee as overall coordinating lead and ensure KPIs and deliverables are tracked, reported and coordinated across the whole Human Potential programme
  • Coordinate and oversee the Early Life grant calls, including reviewing and assessment of grant proposals to meet the intended outcomes of the Early Life research thrust, and the grants management of the Early Life grants
  • Engage with stakeholders in the Human Potential ecosystem including Government and private sectors to synergise research and intervention efforts
Job Requirements:
  • Educational background in life sciences, or a related field such as medical research or biotechnology is preferred but not essential
  • Minimum of 7 years' working experience, with experience in a public sector agency and grants management and secretariat work essential. Those with the relevant working experience will be considered for a more senior role.
  • Able to work, network and communicate with public sector partners effectively, and familiar with the work processes in the public sector
  • Energetic self-starter, able to self-direct, problem solve and flex between varieties of approaches
  • Pro-active, quick learner and high adaptability
  • Outstanding writing abilities, oral communication and presentation skills
