Overview
AWS has an immediate opening in Singapore for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Data Center Finance team in Asia-Pacific. In this role you will work with regional AWS leadership based in Singapore and Indonesia to lead financial controllership of AWS Data Center Operations and improve financial performance. You will be surrounded by talented colleagues and contribute to a fast-growing business by applying strong analytics, accountability, and precision.
The Data Center Finance team is part of the Asia-Pacific Infrastructure group. We provide end-to-end financial support to help AWS be low-cost and deliver excellent customer experience, including supporting business owners in designing, building, operating and innovating our Cloud data centers. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis to enable management to make strategic decisions, drive cash flow, and delight customers.
Responsibilities
Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and internal stakeholders primarily in Singapore and Indonesia to provide financial recommendations.
Drive cost savings by identifying opportunities and benchmarking across vendors and locales.
Collaborate across teams on cost savings projects, automation and improvements with finance, construction, IT and design.
Conduct regular face-to-face and virtual meetings in the Asia-Pacific region to support business partners and drive efficiencies.
Manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast metrics for financial risks and opportunities.
Report on financial performance and lead preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reviews.
Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management.
Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes and controls to support a fast-growing, global business.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
4+ years of experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or MBA with 5+ years of finance or related analytical field experience
Business partnering experience
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or CPA
Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
