Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Child Psychologist/Counsellor to work with us. As a dedicated platform for children with learning or special needs, we strive to create a supportive community that bridges students' needs with expert guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs, providing actionable insights to support their development.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on assessment findings and each child's unique needs and goals, ensuring seamless integration with existing interventions.
  • Provide one-on-one counselling or therapy sessions, utilising evidence-based techniques to address issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, and social skills deficits, promoting optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide holistic support and ensure consistency in therapeutic interventions across environments, enhancing the child's overall well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of each child's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Offer guidance and resources to families, empowering them to understand and support their child's mental health needs, fostering a sense of control and agency.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in child psychology and counselling, applying this knowledge to enhance the quality of care provided.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge.
  • Valid registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) or relevant professional body in Singapore, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a therapeutic or counselling context, is highly valued, showcasing practical expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and therapeutic techniques, enabling effective assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children and their families, promoting trust and cooperation.
  • Ability to work independently and customise therapy plans based on each child's progress and evolving needs, exercising autonomy and initiative.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's mental health and emotional well-being, driving a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
