Expert Child Mental Health Specialist

Seeking a skilled Freelance Child Psychologist/Counsellor to support children with learning or special needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth assessments of children's emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on assessment findings and each child's unique requirements and objectives.
- Provide one-on-one counselling or therapy sessions, utilising evidence-based techniques to address issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, and social skills deficits.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support and ensure consistency in therapeutic interventions across environments.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of each child's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Offer guidance and resources to families, helping them understand and support their child's mental health needs.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in child psychology and counselling.
- A recognised degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Valid registration with the relevant professional body.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in a therapeutic or counselling context, is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children and their families.
- Ability to work independently and customise therapy plans based on each child's progress and evolving needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's mental health and emotional well-being.
- Clinical expertise and up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic methods.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Emotional resilience and ability to manage complex cases.
