Overview We are seeking an inspiring and forward-thinking Assistant Head of Junior School (Technology & Innovation) to join our leadership team in August 2026 , and help shape the next chapter of our digital journey. As a key member of the Junior School Senior Leadership Team, you will provide visionary and pragmatic leadership that enhances student learning and supports teachers through the intelligent use of technology. You will design and lead initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning and improve staff efficiency. The role also carries responsibility for key operational systems that underpin the smooth running of the Junior School, such as the design of the timetable. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the College and the wider EiM group, you will contribute to strategic developments that have impact beyond the Junior School. The successful candidate will combine strong technical literacy, a deep understanding of pedagogy and the ability to translate complex systems into practical solutions. The Junior School uses a range of platforms, including iSAMS, SchoolBox, ASC Timetable and Microsoft 365. While experience with these specific systems is not required, you will demonstrate knowledge of similar tools and the ability to quickly acquire new technical understanding and apply it in a dynamic educational environment. All leaders across the College contribute to our teaching programme, modelling excellence in teaching and maintaining a connection between strategic leadership and the student learning experience. Your teaching will focus on a specialist subject that aligns with your skills and passion. Responsibilities and approach In your role, you will: Provide visionary and pragmatic leadership to enhance student learning through the intelligent use of technology. Design and lead initiatives to strengthen teaching and learning and improve staff efficiency. Oversee key operational systems underpinning the Junior School, including timetable design. Collaborate with colleagues across the College and the wider EiM group to contribute to strategic developments impacting the Junior School and beyond. Translate complex technical systems into practical solutions for staff and students. All leaders across the College contribute to the teaching programme and model excellence in teaching while connecting strategic leadership to the student learning experience. You will teach a specialist subject aligned with your skills and passion. Qualifications and requirements The successful candidate will: Demonstrate strong technical literacy and a solid understanding of pedagogy. Be capable of translating complex systems into practical, classroom-ready solutions. Have familiarity with platforms used by the Junior School or the ability to quickly acquire new technical understanding in a dynamic educational environment. The College uses iSAMS, SchoolBox, ASC Timetable and Microsoft 365; experience with these exact systems is not required, but transferable experience with similar tools is welcome.
