Overview The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School's primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities. The Research Institute for Cancer Prevention, Screening and Early Detection has recently been established as a joint initiative between the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the National Cancer Centre of Singapore. It aims to be a leading Asian institution in clinical translational research and education for cancer prevention and early detection. The initial areas of research focus relate to precision cancer prevention including the development and validation of risk prediction models and clinical implementation research of targeted screening and behavioural interventions to increase cancer screening relevant to an individual's cancer risk profile. The Institute works closely with Primary Care and Family Medicine at LKC Medicine, given the Institute's focus on the role of primary care in cancer prevention and detection. Key Responsibilities: Support the conduct of a feasibility study applying biomarker tests in primary care to determine liver cancer risk and need for liver cancer surveillance. Research, data analysis and interpretation Support the development of trial specific materials including cancer risk communication reports Support patient recruitment, delivery of interventions and follow-up of study participants Data collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data Project management, ensuring study deliverables, reports and publications are completed punctually according to study and grant timelines Support the preparation of reports, presentation and manu s for publication in peer reviewed publication and lay statement Administration Ensure all work processes met the ethical standards of the University, Singapore Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirements Collaboration and communication Work effectively with key stakeholder groups, including patients, clinicians and clinic staff to achieve project and program outcomes Contribute to grants, manu s, reports, reviews, abstracts, posters and oral presentations with collaborators Assist in communications with institutional review board staff regarding ethics applications, amendments and reports Work collaboratively with Theme PI to develop and achieve research outputs Key Competencies and Requirements: PhD degree in health services research, implementation science or a related discipline e.g. medicine, nursing, allied health, genetic counselling, public health, social sciences.
