Overview The Senior/Assistant Director supports the Deputy Director in leading the outbreak investigation and management unit of NICHE. The unit oversees the surveillance and response for infectious diseases outbreaks, ensuring effective prevention and control across the long‐term care sector. You will work in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment that requires managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously. Responsibilities Assist in the formulation of evidence‐based policies to control the spread of infectious diseases and evaluate current measures in the long‐term care sector. Engage and collaborate with sector leads (MSF) and other stakeholders to formulate, implement, monitor, and review policies and SOPs. Lead disease epidemiological investigations, identify possible sources of transmission, and recommend control measures. Prepare disease‐specific epidemiological situation reports and professional inputs for internal and external audiences. Communicate critical information to stakeholders during public health events, ensuring timely, coordinated responses. Coordinate with government agencies, healthcare institutions, and internal health bodies to align priorities and enable seamless data exchange. Provide public information and education on disease prevention and control measures, fostering trust and compliance. Qualifications Tertiary qualification, preferably a science or life science discipline; nursing background or related disciplines (e.g., bioengineering, allied health). Postgraduate degree in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent (advantage). At least 5 years of experience in public health (advantage). Strong analytical mindset and the ability to write concisely and precisely. Excellent organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to work beyond office hours during outbreaks. Willingness to continuously keep up‐to‐date on new developments in the communicable diseases field.
