The Emerging Markets have been a growing business for Asia Segment of Manulife and are expected to grow aggressively. To deliver on our ambitions, we are looking to hire an AVP Distribution Enablement, Emerging Markets to strengthen our execution capabilities and scale our distribution model with new technologies and digital tools to accelerate our productivity and growth. The AVP Distribution Enablement, Emerging Markets will be pivotal to our distribution growth through 1) Strengthen Agency Management Fundamentals, 2) Evolve to a Fit-For-Purpose Distribution Model, 3) Leverage Digital Tools and Analytics, and 4) Scale Distribution / Agency Over Mid-Long Term . Responsibilities Strengthen Agency Management Fundamentals Enable EM distribution leaders on improving Agency Recruitment / Onboarding, Training and Engagement to enhance agent productivity and sales effectiveness Collaborate with product, marketing, and digital teams to empower agents with resources, training and digital tools that focus them on topline growth and better manage persistency Partner with local agency leaders to adopt new practices and tools to uplift agency capabilities and expand capacity. Evolve to a Fit-For-Purpose Distribution Model Drive the transformation of current distribution models across Emerging markets by providing expert recommendations on addressing gaps and untapped opportunities Support market leaders in defining the right external partnership (organic and inorganic opportunities) / proposition landscape and deliver on the transformation required Consult on right-sizing and effective structuring of agency salesforce through clear customer segmentation and well-defined product sales strategy Consult on simplification, modernization and adoption of improved sales processes to elevate agent productivity and customer outcomes Leverage Digital Tools and Analytics Create digital-accelerated roadmap that EM Countries can adopt to deliver stronger distribution outcomes Drive the adoption of digital tools, AI and Analytics across Emerging Markets to drive customer segmentation, optimize sales pipeline activity, drive sales quality / outcomes, deliver to customer needs, and improve persistency metrics Scale Distribution / Agency Over Mid-Long Term Partner with market leaders to shape mid-long-term distribution / agency strategies and models aligned to our organization's goals on sustainable growth and digital customer leadership. Scale a strong agency operating model within and across the Emerging Markets to maximize market reach while minimizing operating risks and free resources to be dedicated for market growth Key Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience in life insurance industry with deep knowledge in distribution strategy, operating model and agency management in recruitment, training, engagement, etc Track record in driving sales growth and in delivering on transformation agenda particularly around new operating models, adoption of new technologies and digital tools Ability to shape mid-long term distribution strategy with focus on innovation, customer-centricity and transformation Proven track record in establishing and managing cross-business and external partnerships Excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal, conflict management, and influencing skills who can engage multi-functional stakeholders across all levels of the organization on the transformation journey Other Requirements University degree required, advanced degree a plus Fluency in English required; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia or Melayu a plus Experience working across Southeast Asian markets strongly preferred Travel required 30 – 50% of the time When you join our team We'll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
