Overview of the role:
The Demand Planner is responsible for improving the forecast accuracy at the national as well as branch level so that the right stock is procured on time and made available to customers. This is achieved by utilizing tools like Syncron to monitor demand transactions and taking timely actions to avoid the risk of run-out. Continuous stakeholder alignment is needed to understand the business and market needs to keep the stock healthy.
What you will do:
Review and process Back-to-Back orders with suppliers, ensuring orders are sent and confirmed on receipt, and that orders are dispatched within the agreed lead time.
Monitor and follow up on back orders.
Assess risk and mitigate bulk ordered quantities.
Review pending orders overdue for delivery and communicate with vendors about delays in supply.
Ensure on-time delivery of available stock to customers.
Provide ETD/ETA information to customers on back orders.
Review technical and campaign parts and order proposals.
Process and follow up on recall and redistribution orders.
Monitor auto-replenishment orders.
Ensure availability of stocked parts at branches.
Follow up on service levels with respective branch representatives.
Collect market information from the business, analyze it, and incorporate it into statistical forecasting models to generate the final forecast.
Measure variances between forecast and actual demand, analyze causes and effects, and recommend corrective actions to the Ordering and Inventory Team.
Analyze sales trends for key customers and branches.
Monitor stock levels and reordering frequency of key customers and branches.
Review Syncron alerts for branches, e.g., last demand flyer, lead time, demand change alerts, forecast alerts.
Gather inquiry information and analyze to identify part numbers that could potentially increase company revenue.
Collect lost sales information from the sales team and take necessary actions to improve availability.
Review stocked and non-stocked items and analyze root causes and countermeasures, coordinating with the ordering team for further actions.
Work proactively with the sales team to avoid lost sales or local purchases.
Maintain and update parts master data as per guidelines.
Required Skills to be successful:
Demonstrated experience developing management reporting packs and presenting to senior leadership.
Skilled in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Understanding of agile ways of working.
Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain modules in ERP systems like SAP.
About the Team:
The Demand Planner will report to the Operations Manager and is part of the inventory control team in Global Aftersales at Al Futtaim Automotive. The team is responsible for balancing inventory cost with service level as per business recommendations.
What equips you for the role:
Bachelor's/Master’s in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or equivalent.
Around 5 years of experience in the field of supply chain, preferably with automotive experience.
Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems.
Business development and process improvement skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point/MS Projects).
