Front Desk Receptionist

The role of a Front Desk Receptionist is pivotal in shaping the first impression of an educational institution. Key responsibilities include handling incoming phone calls, attending to walk-in students and parents, providing basic first aid, performing administrative tasks, and managing the front office reception counter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all incoming phone calls, enquiries, and deliveries promptly and efficiently.
  • Attend to walk-in students, teachers, parents, vendors, and other stakeholders with care and empathy.
  • Assist unwell students and coordinate with relevant stakeholders until the student leaves safely.
  • Provide basic first aid to injured/unwell students and maintain the sick bay, including replenishing supplies.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, preparing documents, managing inventory, and making necessary trips.
  • Engage with parents on matters related to administrative processes (e.g., GIRO applications).
  • Prioritize urgent and important tasks while effectively multi-tasking across different work areas.
  • Manage the front office reception counter, ensuring it remains clean, tidy, and welcoming.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a front desk reception capacity.
  • Prior experience in a school environment, especially primary schools, is highly valued.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in English is required.
  • A warm personality with excellent customer service and telephone etiquette is necessary.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate within a team setting.
