Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Specialist to provide expert assistance with business-critical applications, ensuring minimal downtime and delivering an exceptional user experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support, identifying and resolving issues efficiently, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide application support across multiple business applications.
  • Respond, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues within agreed service level agreements.
  • Perform data patching and data retrieval as required.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or development teams when necessary.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Document recurring issues and workarounds in the internal knowledge base to improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in application support or a similar role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with AI tools that can assist in issue resolution and productivity improvement.
  • Basic understanding of modern frontend and backend frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, bash scripting, and automation tools.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services.
  • Basic understanding of middleware technologies (e.g., message brokers, API gateways, background job processors).
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Sentry, New Relic, Crashlytics, etc).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, and React Native.
  • Experience with middleware technologies (e.g., message brokers, API gateways, background job processors).
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, etc.).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
