Job Title: Senior Pastry Specialist

Famous Spanish cheese cake brand has opened a job vacancy for a highly skilled Senior Pastry Specialist. As a key member of the pastry team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality products, handling and receiving goods, and maintaining good hygiene practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Food Preparation: Take care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by superiors to meet standards and quality set by the establishment.
  • Task Execution: Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate superiors to complete daily tasks efficiently.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate daily tasks with the Sous Chef to ensure smooth operation.
  • Production Needs: Estimate daily production needs and check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating costs on an ongoing basis.
  • Menu Knowledge: Have full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards.
  • Food Handling: Follow good preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products at the right temperature.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain all department equipment and report malfunctioning.
  • Creativity and Cost Control: Have excellent knowledge of menu creation while maintaining quality and controlling costs in a volume food business.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Personally responsible for hygiene, safety, and correct use of equipment and utensils.
  • Time Management: Ability to produce own work in accordance with deadlines and assist and encourage others in achieving this aim.
  • Quality Checks: Check periodically expiry dates and proper storage of food items in the section.
  • Daily Consultations: Consult daily with Sous Chef and Head Chef on the daily requirements, functions, and last-minute events.
  • Training and Development: Guide and train subordinates on a daily basis to ensure high motivation and economical working environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Assess quality control and adhere to restaurant service standards.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out any other duties as required by management.
