Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Linux and Unix environments.

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Patching and vulnerability management of all Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX Servers, Solaris VM, and IBM VIO.
  • System administration of Linux/Unix environment.
  • Performing patch assessments and recommending/ planning deployment.
  • Bios upgrades and firmware upgrades.
  • Log monitoring/maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Linux/Unix System Administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and constantly changing environment.
  • Able to work on weekends as per roster and perform on-call support (during weekdays) as and when needed.
  • Working experience on RHEL/HP-UX/Solaris/AIX Servers.
  • Knowledge on cluster management software.
  • Patch management and vulnerability management.
  • Troubleshooting skills in OS & Hardware related issues.
  • Extensive experience in OS and Hardware/Firmware patching.
  • Experience on patch management tools like BigFix, SCCM etc.
  • Experience on automation of pre and post patching tasks.
  • Hand-on knowledge on various RAID technologies.
  • Knowledge on clustering.
  • Knowledge on server management tools.
