Job Description

The position of Research Assistant plays a vital role in supporting research and operational activities related to immersive training simulators. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing data for simulations, assisting with technical setup and user guidance during simulator and VR demonstrations, and supporting documentation and reporting activities.

This role involves working closely with the centre's technologists to prepare data to support immersive Training Simulators operations. The successful candidate will be able to provide basic technical support and guide users during simulator or VR demonstrations for site visits, events/courses, and exhibitions.

The Research Assistant will also be involved in supporting technical and training support on the operation of Methanol Handling VR sessions during the transition to the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA).

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with simulation systems, VR/AR technologies, or related immersive tools.
  • Knowledge of data management practices and understanding of recording and organizing technical data.
  • Ability to assist in troubleshooting hardware and software used in simulators.
