Overview
The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) is a new government agency established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore's communicable diseases preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response.
Role
Senior Assistant Director/ Assistant Director (Strategy & Evaluation) in the Immunisation Policy and Strategy (IPS) Division, contributing to the division's objective of minimising morbidity and mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases by shaping national immunisation policies and strategies. You will work in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of evidence-based immunisation policies and strategies to prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.
Keep immunisation policies and strategies up-to-date.
Drive the development of strategies for vaccine-related counter-measures as part of national preparedness and pandemic-related planning.
Interact with MOH, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry stakeholders in the development, design and implementation of these policies and strategies.
Support relevant expert committees and stay abreast of the latest research and regulatory developments related to vaccines, updating immunisation strategies accordingly.
Collaborate across government, healthcare and industry stakeholders to design and implement policies and strategies.
Qualifications
Tertiary education in health sciences, or equivalent preferred.
At least 5 years of working experience in public health and/or health policy.
Prior experience engaging industry players advantageous.
Knowledge of local healthcare and public service structures advantageous.
Candidates with vaccinology background strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, management and organisational abilities to lead a team and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
Forward-thinking, analytical mindset.
Good situational awareness regarding global developments in vaccinology, vaccination manufacturing and pandemic preparedness, with the ability to integrate these with research findings to shape policy.
Good understanding of local and international communicable disease control principles.
Committed to work and willing to work under pressure.
