Job Overview
The Engineer/Lead Engineer (Corrections Ops, Security Systems) will assist the Head (Corrections Ops, Security Systems) to ensure the continual operation of effective and sustainable security control systems and other Ops-Tech solutions for Singapore Prison Service (SPS). Responsibilities include project management, technology refresh, and implementation of physical security control systems such as access control, monitoring, communication systems, vehicle scanners, and radio communications within detention and custodial environments. The role also involves contributing to strategic long-term technology planning to align with HTX's transformation and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Scope operations requirements into business cases and specifications, evaluate and recommend Ops-Tech solutions that meet business needs.
Procure services, evaluate proposals, and select vendors through government tendering or quotation processes.
Oversee security control systems and supporting ICT systems to ensure service levels are maintained.
Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot technical issues, investigate system behaviors, and resolve faults.
Work with team members to develop detailed technological solutions that meet operational and security requirements.
Manage projects to ensure successful implementation and quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, ICT, Electronics Engineering, or related fields.
At least 3 years of experience in software development, business analysis, or project management.
Proven experience in implementing physical security systems and Ops-Tech systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with stakeholder engagement abilities.
This position is based in Changi. All new hires will initially be on a two-year contract, with potential for permanent employment based on performance. Applicants may be required to complete medical declarations or assessments. Updates on application status will be provided within 4 weeks after the closing date.
