Senior Process Safety Expert Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This role will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing our Process Safety Management (PSM) systems, ensuring regulatory compliance under Singapore's MHI framework, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the terminal's Safety Case documentation, ensuring alignment with MHI regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and facilitate HAZOPs, LOPAs, QRAs, and ensure risks are mitigated to ALARP.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on safety systems, consequence modelling, and incident investigations.
  • Partner with project, operations, and SHE teams to deliver safety input for engineering designs, plant modifications, and commercial projects.
  • Monitor and enhance compliance with local and international process safety regulations and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in SHE performance and deliver training on process safety best practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, or terminal operations.
  • At least 5 years focused on process safety, ideally in MHI-regulated environments.
  • Proven expertise in hazard identification, risk assessments, safety system design, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore's MHI regulations and international safety standards.
  • Proficient in Phast, risk modelling tools, and facilitation of hazard studies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
