Senior Regulatory Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Lawyer to join our team. As a leading player in the global cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 space, we require a lawyer with expertise in financial regulation.

Our client is a leader in global cryptocurrency exchange and Web3. They offer a wide range of crypto services including spot trading, futures trading, copy trading, and Web3 wallet functionalities.

They aim to 'Inspire the future with crypto', focusing on empowering users through intuitive trading tools, social trading features, and secure Web3 access. Their vision is to bridge the gap between centralized exchanges and decentralized finance (CeFi and DeFi), helping more people participate in the digital economy.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified lawyer with 3-5 years of experience in financial regulatory matters.
  • Experience from a reputable global law firm (common law jurisdiction) and reputable in-house organization is a must.
  • Located in APAC time zone with Hong Kong and Singapore being preferred jurisdictions. Experience and knowledge of financial products (including spot trading, copy trading, margins, derivatives, and options) and commercial transactions.
  • Track-record of working on licensing and regulatory matters for traditional financial institutions and cryptocurrency organizations is highly preferred, including interactions with regulatory bodies such as the FCA, VARA, AMF, MAS, HK SFC, and others.
  • Knowledge of the latest policy and rules from standard-setting bodies such as IOSCO, European Union, and central banks.
  • Regulatory experience including regulatory investigations, requests for information, sanctions work, AML compliance, and corporate governance work is highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently and make tough decisions.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Regulatory Lawyer, you will be responsible for advising on and implementing regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will work closely with our legal team to identify and mitigate regulatory risks, develop and implement effective compliance programs, and provide counsel on complex regulatory matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial regulatory law.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, including spot trading, copy trading, margins, derivatives, and options.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in APAC time zone, particularly in Hong Kong or Singapore.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and regulatory frameworks in APAC region.
  • Fluency in English and/or Chinese language.
