Junior Grower Role Overview

The Junior Grower will provide crucial support to the Master Grower in maintaining optimal growing conditions and plant health within our controlled environment agriculture facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transplant seedlings from the propagation area into growth systems
  • Seed direct-sowed crops according to planting schedules
  • Monitor plant growth and report any signs of pest, disease, nutrient deficiencies, etc. to the Master Grower
  • Assist with preparing nutrient solutions and adjusting EC/pH levels as directed
  • Perform regular maintenance on hydroponic systems, including checking pumps, lines, timers, etc.
  • Collect and input plant measurement data, including height, width, leaf health, etc., into tracking software
  • Support harvest operations, including cutting, trimming, weighing, and packing produce
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the growing area
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop knowledge of horticultural principles, plant health, and CEA technologies

Requirements

  • No prior experience is required
  • Basic knowledge of plant biology and crop production
  • Attention to detail and strong observational skills
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Proficiency in using tablets, smartphones, and computers to input data
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
