Scientist, Laboratory of Regulatory Translatomics and RNA Signaling (GIS)

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research . The Vasudevan lab at GIS conducts cutting-edge research on post-transcriptional regulation in refractory cancers and develops RNA therapeutics. The lab collaborates with academia, clinical groups, and industries to combine RNA mechanistic studies with AI and therapeutic platforms to target cancer and other disease.
Responsibilities
Study 3 projects: Ribosome and translation mechanism changes in the tumour microenvironment; CircRNA functional analysis in cells and extracellular vesicles in refractory cancers; RNA therapeutic development.
Work on individual projects with the PI and the team, and with industry and academic collaborators to perform RNA and cancer investigations, develop new assays and therapeutics, develop and perform profiling assays, and assist in the day-to-day operation of the lab.
Qualifications / Experience
PhD degree in Life Sciences, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, RNA sequencing, RNA analyses, cancer cell biology techniques. Experience with primary immune cells and immune analysis, or with patient samples, organoids or in vivo models, and/or profiling analysis will be preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in experimental procedures and data management, as well as experience in troubleshooting and projecting alternatives.
Ability to work independently with mentoring support as well as work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
