About the role
We are helping our client hire a Chief Financial Officer to lead its global finance function. This is an excellent step-up opportunity for experienced Financial Controllers or an exciting challenge for CFOs with strong project accounting expertise. You will drive financial strategy, manage risks on millions dollar projects, and lead a global finance team of 40, supported by a Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the executive team

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and financial reports

  • Oversee project accounting for multi-million-dollar projects

  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making

  • Manage the company's financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing global finance team

  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

  • Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives

  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant with 10+ years of experience in a senior financial management role

  • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting

  • Chartered Accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA); MBA is an advantage.

  • Proven track record in project accounting and risk management for large projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders

  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing finance teams

  • Proficient in financial systems and technologies

  • Ambitious, energetic, and capable of stepping up into a strategic CFO role
