About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Unix Engineer to fill a critical role at our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining RHEL systems, designing and implementing OpenShift container platforms, and administering JBoss application servers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain RHEL systems across development, testing, and production environments.
- Design, implement, and support OpenShift container platforms.
- Administer and troubleshoot JBoss application servers.
- Utilize Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and configuration management.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration, with a focus on RHEL.
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift container platform administration.
- Experience with JBoss application server management.
- Proficiency in using Red Hat Satellite for system management.
- Advanced knowledge of RHEL system administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or higher).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
