Key Responsibilities:
Content Development & Writing
Write and develop instructional materials such as course outlines, lesson plans, modules, quizzes, assessments, and supplementary documents.
Research and gather information from reliable sources to ensure course content is accurate and relevant.
Ensure that all content aligns with course objectives, learning outcomes, and the target audience.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Collaborate with SMEs to present complex topics in an accessible, engaging, and clear manner for learners.
Conduct interviews or meetings with SMEs to gain insights, clarify content, and incorporate best practices.
Integrate SME feedback into course materials, maintaining a clear and effective instructional structure.
Instructional Design & Structure
Design course content following established instructional design principles to ensure logical flow and learner engagement.
Develop a variety of learning materials, including videos, readings, interactive exercises, and assessments.
Work with instructional designers to integrate multimedia elements and optimize content for diverse learning styles.
Editing & Quality Assurance
Review and revise content to ensure it is accurate, clear, and free from grammar or spelling errors.
Conduct quality checks to ensure the content meets organizational standards.
Ensure content is culturally sensitive, inclusive, and unbiased to reach a diverse audience.
Assessment Development
Create both formative and summative assessments to gauge learners' understanding and retention.
Design diverse assessment formats, such as multiple-choice questions, case studies, assignments, and project-based evaluations.
Align assessments with learning objectives and provide meaningful feedback.
Content Adaptation for Different Platforms
Adapt content for multiple formats, including online courses, webinars, instructor-led sessions, and self-paced modules.
Collaborate with the LMS (Learning Management System) team to ensure smooth integration of course content.
Optimize content for mobile and other digital platforms as needed.
Continuous Improvement & Updates
Regularly update course materials to reflect industry trends, new research, and organizational changes.
Use learner feedback and performance data to refine and enhance course content.
Stay current with best practices in instructional writing and emerging trends in e-learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, English, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., in e-learning development) is a plus.
Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience in content writing, curriculum development, instructional design, or a related field.
Writing Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Instructional Design Knowledge:
Understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and diverse learning styles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and content development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Canva) is desirable.
Research Skills:
Strong research abilities to source credible information and examples for course development.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with SMEs and team members.
Project Management:
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Creativity and Adaptability:
Innovative approach to creating engaging content and the ability to adjust writing style based on audience and platform.
