Job Opportunity: Solution Architect

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing solution architectures for systems within one or more sub-domains. This position requires a strong understanding of business requirements and the ability to ensure that architectures align with the organisation's IT Target Architecture while minimizing complexity and costs.

The successful candidate will collaborate with IT teams throughout the project lifecycle, manage vendor architects, and communicate architectural solutions to stakeholders. Additionally, this role includes ensuring adherence to governance processes and providing feedback to Enterprise Architecture on best practices.

  • Develop and implement solution architectures for systems in one or more sub-domains.
  • Define solution architectures that satisfy business requirements of projects/programs aligned with the organisation's IT Target Architecture and IT and Security Standards.
  • Implement cost-efficient solutions that reduce IT complexity.
  • Collaborate with project IT teams through the complete project lifecycle, from inception to design, testing, technology selection, and deployment.
  • Manage vendors' architects and ensure project deliverables align with specified architecture.
  • Author the Solution Architecture Statement and System Requirement Statement.
  • Review and approve Detailed Design, Testing, and Deployment Architecture documentation.
  • Ensure the project benefits from reusing existing assets.
  • Communicate the solution architecture to project/program stakeholders and guide IT project teams during architecture implementation.
  • Ensure governance processes, including Architecture and Security touchpoints, are followed.
  • Align the solution architecture with Domain Architecture.
  • Provide feedback to Enterprise Architecture with best practices and implementation constraints of IT standards or proposed solution architecture.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • At least 10 years of multi-disciplined IT experience, including 5 years of architecture responsibilities in a large, sophisticated organization with a high volume/high transaction environment.
  • Development experience in a team that has provided world-class results, specification, and configuration of systems and interfaces, including data and performance analysis.
  • Experience in Integration Architecture, B2C, and B2B architectures.
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), including Event Management, Business Process Management, Business Rules Engine, and Complex Event Processing, Mobile Technologies.
  • Working knowledge of the Logistics/Transportation industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Project management experience in large complex projects.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of advanced technologies such as Machine Learning, Data Mining, Text Mining, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
  • Architecture certifications from the information systems professional body.
  • Strong English written and spoken language skills.
  • Demonstrate professional presentation skills.

Education:

Advanced University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
