DESIGNATION : Associate/ Assistant Manager, Strategic Communications
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate/ Assistant Manager, Strategic Communications to support and execute internal and external communication strategies. This role is responsible for crafting compelling communication narratives, supporting media engagement/relations, and contributing to impactful communication strategies that will help advance the mission of building Singapore into a giving nation.
Conduct research on the latest media trends and stay on top of the local media and journalism landscape
Analyse news stories to spot opportunities for NVPC to insert a point of view
Ideate creative and impactful angles and opportunities to articulate NVPC's vision, mission, values, purpose and impact internally and externally.
Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure integration and alignment in brand, messaging and expected outcomes.
Engage different departments and teams to digest, translate and present NVPC announcements, research, programmes and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, particularly the media.
Contribute to the success of media events and media relations efforts by building media lists, drafting pitches, coordinating interviews and briefing sessions.
Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives, providing regular reports and insights for continuous improvement.
Draft and edit internal communication materials such as posters and EDMs to effectively engage NVPC employees.
Handle day-to-day administrative tasks associated with communications projects and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or Diploma in PR, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related
2+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related role. Experience in the public sector is desired.
Understands how to work well with key journalists, senior spokespersons and different types of stakeholders in the public service, corporate, non-profit sector
Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages.
Strong research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data for strategic insights.
Bilingual business competency in any of these languages: English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Keen interest in current affairs, news, ESG and societal issues
Positive can-do attitude
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
