What the role is:
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service ( ) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As part of the Communications Research (CR) Team under the Communications and Engagement Group (CEG), you will be involved in conducting various types of research (e.g. online media sensing, surveys on key healthcare issues, campaign evaluation), with the aim of integrating public sentiments and other data into the communications planning and policy review processes.
What you will be working on:
Research and Sensing Analysis: Conduct end-to-end research including questionnaire design and analysis of data to distil meaningful insights which can impact comms or policy review. Analyse and chart data from media analytics platforms (e.g. online consumption and sentiments) to keep abreast of hot button topics in healthcare. Explore potential new digital/ analytics platforms which can improve the way we conduct research/ media sensing.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work with vendors to effectively and efficiently achieve objectives of each research project. Liaise with relevant divisions in MOH, and across agencies to ensure research is aligned to policy/ comms needs.
What we are looking for:
Key Competencies Required: Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements – Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities.
Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working.

Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose.
Polytechnic diploma or university degree, in any discipline.
Prior experience with sentiments research is an advantage.
Other relevant traits include being curious, detail-oriented, not afraid of numbers, interest to translate data into insights, strong writing and communication skills.
