Overview

Our client, a global leader in consumer health with a portfolio of beloved brands, is seeking a visionary R&D Director to drive the strategic vision for product development, ensuring rapid market entry and robust scientific credibility. Position is based in Singapore, and open to candidates in other markets with APAC region responsibilities.

Key Objectives
  • Bridge the gap between deep science and commercial strategy, turning insights into breakthrough products to market
  • Accelerate new product launches with efficiency and impact
  • Champion evidence-based claims to support product innovation
Main Responsibilities
  • Guide a high-performing technical team to craft and implement innovative product development strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives
  • Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional leadership teams to shape a forward-thinking portfolio strategy
  • Leverage deep knowledge of key ingredients to inspire and develop groundbreaking product concepts
  • Collaborate with business units to assess and prioritize new opportunities, including financial viability
  • Engage in global innovation forums, sharing expertise and driving collaborative breakthroughs
  • Oversee project execution to ensure timely delivery of high-impact innovation initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • A commercially minded leader with 16+ years of experience in the research & development (R&D) and innovation space, specifically within the Consumer Health, Over-The-Counter (OTC), Food & Beverage FMCG, or Consumer Goods sector
  • A proven track record as a leader with strong commercial acumen and experience managing regional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of nutritional, pharmaceutical, or skincare ingredients and suppliers
  • Familiarity with product formulations, specifications and quality & food safety standards
  • A positive attitude, energetic, and passion for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English is essential
