Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary:
The Learning Support Teacher provides individualized, high-level academic and behavioral support for students with diverse learning needs. A central responsibility of this role is developing and managing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), in addition to Learning Support Plans (LSPs), and collaborating with parents, teachers, and specialists to ensure that every child receives tailored instruction to meet their unique goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and annual review of IEPs and LSPs.
  • Provide Level 1–3 student support (consultation, classroom push-in/co-teaching, and one-on-one pull-out sessions).
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instructional methods and ensure accommodations are met.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Participate in psycho-educational evaluations and contribute to behavior and academic support planning.
  • Co-plan and co-teach with homeroom teachers using various inclusive teaching models.
  • Support the Admissions Team in screening incoming students requiring learning support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and valid teaching credential (exceptions may be considered by the Academic Board).
  • Specialized training/experience in special education or related field.
  • Demonstrated international teaching experience across multiple countries.
  • Proven ability to work with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing IEPs.
