Purpose & Objectives
Purpose
– The Lead / Senior UX Designer will lead design and user experience efforts focused on enhancing teachers’ professional development and learning. This role requires strong service design skills to understand user journeys, identify pain points, and develop intuitive solutions that support teachers’ learning needs.
Objectives
Develop user-centric solutions to improve teachers’ professional development and learning experiences.
Apply service design methodologies to deeply understand user needs and translate them into practical, effective designs.
Drive design-thinking processes to create solutions that address real-world challenges faced by teachers.
Lead research, ideation, prototyping, and testing processes to ensure alignment with user needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Service Design and User Research
Conduct user interviews, focus groups, and concept testing to gather insights on teachers’ pain points and challenges.
Facilitate kick-off workshops to define objectives, gather requirements, and align on business perspectives.
Translate research insights into actionable, user-centric solutions.
2. UX Design, Prototyping, and Testing
Design wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize and communicate concepts effectively.
Validate designs through concept testing and user feedback to ensure usability and relevance.
Conduct user testing sessions to gather insights and refine designs iteratively.
Manage the end-to-end design process, from ideation and prototyping to feedback incorporation.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Collaborate with MOE stakeholders, product teams, and educational leaders to ensure alignment with professional development objectives.
Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to co-create solutions with teachers and stakeholders.
Clearly communicate design decisions and insights to stakeholders and project leads.
Skills, Behaviours, and Attributes Needed
Service Design Expertise:
Proficiency in research, ideation, prototyping, and user testing with a user-centric approach.
UX Design Proficiency:
Skilled in creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows using standard UX tools.
Facilitation Skills:
Ability to conduct workshops and collaborative design sessions to gather insights and align stakeholders.
Communication Skills:
Strong ability to articulate design concepts and decisions clearly and effectively.
Proficiency in UX Design Tools:
Competent in using tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent.
