Manager, Art Exhibition and Events (SG, Contract/ Project)
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE
: Tanoto Art Foundation (TAF) seeks an experienced and dynamic Manager who will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and production of a contemporary art exhibition and related public programs and events.
Supporting the Associate Curator and reporting to the Artistic Director, the Manager will be in charge of exhibition installation and deinstallation, artwork shipment and loans, and working with key external vendors such as art handling and exhibition design companies, artists, and invited speakers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Exhibition Management
Manage and deliver all aspects related to exhibition and artwork management in close collaboration with TAF Curatorial team
Plan and adhere to an exhibition timeline, from exhibition design, fabrication, logistics, shipment, installation, maintenance to deinstallation
Support the appointment of, and work closely with, external vendors including art handling company and exhibition designers to ensure that artworks are shipped, handled, installed, and deinstalled in a professional and timely manner
Draft and secure the necessary loan agreements, copyright clearance, and licenses from artists and external organizations/individuals in a timely manner
Support and adhere closely to an exhibition budget, ensuring cost-effective practices
With the support of TAF Curatorial and Management team, work with venue partner to ensure that the exhibition space is properly and safely equipped for a contemporary art exhibition
Where required, support the production of new artwork commissions
Conduct regular condition checks of exhibited artworks
Support TAF Curatorial team in training and management of docents
Event Management
Manage and support the delivery of public programs and events related to the exhibition, including panel discussions, artist talks, performances, dinners, and social events
Liaise with invited speakers and artists to book their travel and accommodation
With TAF Curatorial and Communications teams, support the appointment of, and work closely with, videographer and photographer to ensure proper documentation of exhibition and all related programs
Support the TAF Curatorial and Communications teams in sending out event invitations and updating guest lists and stakeholder database
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines such as arts management, museum or curatorial studies, art history, fine art, or the equivalent
Minimum 5 years of industry experience in arts management, specifically exhibitions, events, and interdisciplinary cultural productions. Experience managing and delivering international projects is a bonus
Demonstrated experience collaborating and successfully delivering projects with internationally recognized artists, arts institutions, government agencies, nonprofit arts organizations, and interdisciplinary art production companies
Communicative and collaborative team player with strong vendor knowledge and proven industry experience working with multiple stakeholders
Able to multi-task and problem-solve to ensure punctual and high-quality project completion
Able to work flexible hours
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Experience with modelling programs (Sketchup or equivalent) a bonus
Fluency in English. Fluency in other languages a plus
