What you will be working on
At NEA, we seek high-performing individuals committed to making Singapore a better living environment. As an Engineering Manager / Lead Software Engineer, you will oversee technical direction, processes, and the design, implementation, and delivery of products.
Your responsibilities include:
Defining your team’s engineering vision, strategy, and goals aligned with organizational objectives.
Staying updated on industry developments and best practices in system architecture and maintenance.
Implementing systems using bespoke, COTS, SaaS solutions, and cloud technologies, supporting IT transformation.
Partnering with stakeholders to prioritize and manage product roadmaps and deliverables.
Creating and updating long-term technical plans and roadmaps.
Mentoring engineers, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
Developing quality, reliability, and security strategies with cross-functional teams.
Proactively initiating engineering initiatives for public impact.
Establishing practices and tools to foster a strong engineering culture.
Contributing to recruitment, especially for senior roles.
What we are looking for
Experience with large, high-availability software systems at scale.
Hands-on technical expertise across the full technology stack.
End-to-end system development experience, including UI, APIs, backend, and databases.
Familiarity with Agile, modular design, automation, CI/CD, TDD, and infrastructure automation.
Knowledge of modern web technologies like Next.js/React.js, Java/TypeScript, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Strong leadership skills and soft skills complementing technical expertise.
A passion for engineering excellence and teamwork.
At least 5+ years of development experience and 2+ years of coaching developers.
