Position Summary
The Regional Director Technical Sales & Services will serve as a key technical services representative for across Southeast Asia. This role is responsible for expanding AWS's market presence by developing relationships with technical societies, trade organizations, educational institutions, corporations, and government entities. The position drives brand awareness promotes Client products/services and supports revenue growth through technical expertise and strategic collaboration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Technical Support & Relationship Management
oAct as the primary technical resource to support Client International Business Sales and Marketing initiatives.
oForge and expand relationships with stakeholders (e.g., technical societies, academia, corporations) to promote Client certifications, standards, training, and educational solutions.
oProvide actionable feedback to the Regional Business Director and VP of Welding and Technology on market needs, product gaps, and opportunities for new services.
•Training & Capacity Building
oConduct "Train-the-Trainer" programs for Client education courses, certifications, and custom training in assigned regions.
oPromote Client accreditations, endorsements, and educational solutions to corporations and academic institutions.
•Strategic Collaboration & Advocacy
oRepresent CLIENT on technical committees (e.g., ASME, ASNT) to integrate Client standards/certifications into external codes and programs.
oIdentify and pursue collaboration opportunities with technical organizations for joint educational/certification products.
oAttend industry events to expand professional networks and enhance AWS's market visibility.
•Business Development
oAnalyze new markets and revenue opportunities in collaboration with the Regional Director, developing action plans to expand Client business units.
oDrive organic growth through technical advocacy and market penetration strategies.
•Additional Duties
oExecute special projects as assigned by the VP of Welding and Technology.
Supervision Exercised
•Oversee technical sales, support, and trainer development in assigned territories.
•Manage customer relationship initiatives to ensure alignment with Client objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of domestic/international welding standards (AWS, ASME, ISO).
•Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication abilities.
•Communication: Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
•Technical Proficiency: Advanced competency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom).
•Independence & Discretion: Ability to work autonomously and handle confidential information with sound judgment.
Required Education & Experience
•Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Welding, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
•Experience: Minimum 5 years in welding/fabrication industries, with exposure to technical sales, training, or business development.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
•Environment: Hybrid role combining remote work (home office) with travel. Routine use of standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, copier).
•Travel: Up to 50% regional/international travel; occasional evening/weekend work during travel or committee engagements.
Physical Demands:
oProlonged sitting/standing and computer use.
oAbility to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
oSensory capabilities (sight, hearing, speech) for effective communication.
•Tools: Proficiency in virtual collaboration platforms (MS Teams, Zoom) required.
