Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager – SRE/DevOps to join our Singapore office and lead the IAM (Identity and Access Management) Platform team. The IAM Platform is central to ensuring secure, seamless, and scalable access management across our suite of 150+ Autodesk desktop, mobile, web applications, and smart devices. This platform plays a critical role in managing authentication, authorization, user profiles, and entitlements, serving millions of customers daily and empowering a growing ecosystem of third-party developers and smart devices.

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and oversee a team of SRE/DevOps/DBA engineers dedicated to advancing our IAM platform. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, technical excellence, and delivery of innovative, secure, and robust IAM solutions. The platform you will help build needs to be highly resilient and available, ensuring that Autodesk’s services are reliable and performant at all times, even under the most demanding conditions.

Your leadership will be critical in ensuring that Autodesk’s IAM services remain cutting-edge, resilient, and capable of supporting the evolving needs of our global customer base. You excel in mentoring senior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex, scalable IAM solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of SRE/DevOps/DBA engineers to set strategic goals for the IAM platform and its services, ensuring execution

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure automation, monitoring, and alerting systems for the IAM Platform

  • Develop and enforce best practices for infrastructure, application deployment, and operations within the IAM Platform

  • Develop staff by coaching, facilitating career progressions, and providing growth opportunities

  • Regularly communicate with team members, provide performance feedback, and conduct evaluations

  • Build collaborative partnerships with Software Architects, Technical Leads, Product Owners, Product Managers, and Experience Designers

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, fostering continuous improvement and iteration

  • Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management regarding the development, capabilities, and potential of current and future software projects

  • Provide leadership to achieve high standards of quality, security, scalability, and user experience

  • Aid in designing and building solutions, frameworks, automation, and orchestration for a broad range of cloud infrastructures

  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed team members and stakeholders

  • Take complete ownership of initiatives and deliver them end-to-end while working with various stakeholders

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our IAM systems and practices current

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or engineering roles, with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 2+ years of experience managing development teams

  • Previously managed teams of engineers with ownership of high scale, production systems

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)

  • Experienced in creating telemetry for the service using Splunk, New Relic, Datadog or their equivalents

  • Skilled in big picture thinking and a willingness to learn and dive into unfamiliar systems and resolve complex and ambiguous issues both from a business and technical perspective

  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile development environments, with a focus on iterative improvement and ability to work under pressure

  • Proven ability to define and drive the technical vision and strategic direction for complex cloud infrastructure

  • Have insights about common engineering practice challenges and had experience of leading teams to fix/improve them

  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across different time zones which may require limited work outside normal working hours

  • Ability to define and drive technical vision and strategic direction for complex platforms

  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices

  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile development environments with a focus on iterative improvement and flexibility

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
