Job Summary:
The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting high-quality pastry, bakery, and dessert items in line with the restaurant’s standards. This role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and produce a wide range of pastry and dessert items, including breads, cakes, tarts, chocolates, petit fours, plated desserts, and other sweet products.
Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for seasonal and signature pastry offerings.
Ensure all mise en place is prepared, organized, and ready for service.
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Follow recipes, portion control, and plating specifications as directed by the Pastry Sous Chef / Head Pastry Chef.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the pastry section and equipment.
Assist in training and mentoring junior pastry staff and apprentices.
Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and help with inventory control.
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in accordance with company and government standards.
Job Requirement
Proven experience as Pastry Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a fine-dining or high-volume establishment.
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, chocolate work, bread making, and modern dessert trends.
Creativity and passion for pastry arts with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency during busy service periods.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
Food & Hygiene certificate will be an added advantage.
