Splunk Observability Engineer

A Splunk platform expert with 4-6 years of experience in Splunk Enterprise, ITSI, and Observability.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead monitoring solutions and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. As a seasoned professional in Splunk APM, RUM, Synthetic, and Infra Monitoring, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Splunk solutions to ensure high-quality monitoring coverage and timely incident detection.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and enabling applications for Splunk APM, RUM, and Synthetic monitoring.
  • Onboarding new applications and services to the Splunk monitoring platforms, including APM, RUM, and Synthetic.
  • Maintaining Splunk Observability tools, including Infrastructure Monitoring.
  • Continuously tuning and optimizing alert rules to reduce false positives/negatives and improve incident detection.
  • Coordinating with the Operations team for patching and upgrading of Splunk agents across environments.
  • Proactively monitoring hosts, applications, and infrastructure components to detect and resolve issues early.
  • Creating and fine-tuning dashboards to provide actionable insights and visibility into system and application health.
  • Configuring and managing paging and alerting duties to ensure timely responses to incidents.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve monitoring coverage and effectiveness.
  • Organizing and leading bi-monthly operational meetings related to Splunk and monitoring activities.
  • Managing Business As Usual (BAU) tasks along with continuous enhancements to the monitoring solutions.

Requirements:

  • At least 4-6 years of relevant work experience in Splunk Observability.
  • Independent ownership of monitoring solutions.
  • Handling both BAU and enhancements & Leading operational meetings.
  • Deep work in APM/RUM/Synthetics/Infra Monitoring beyond entry-level log analysis.
  • Prior exposure to alert tuning, dashboards, and monitoring coverage improvements.
  • Platform admin experience (agent patching, upgrades, integrations).
  • Soft skills: can explain monitoring results to non-technical stakeholders.
