Job Description

The primary function of this role is to guarantee the smooth operation of Splunk services across various environments.

  • Perform routine checks and troubleshooting as needed to ensure that Splunk services are running optimally in all environments.
  • Maintain and monitor Splunk infrastructure (Search Heads, Indexers, Forwarders, Deployment Server, Cluster Master, etc.) to prevent disruptions.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of system logs and metrics to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Verify that Splunk forwarders are functioning correctly and transmitting logs back to Splunk systems.
  • Evaluate and develop custom parsers according to client requests.
  • Ensure Splunk supports threat detection, auditing, and incident response capabilities.

Problem Resolution

  • Investigate problems and provide assistance to help resolve critical issues.
  • Track and report on weekly progress, support cases, and incident resolutions.

System Monitoring & System Changes

  • Monitor software updates, security advisories, notifications, and maintenance expiry dates for all software used within the system and assess their impact.
  • Deploy and test system changes in non-production environments as required.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with Splunk systems is essential.
  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin certifications or equivalent are required.
