**Job Overview**

The position of Regional Trade Counsel is a crucial role in our organization. As a Corporate Counsel, you will work on exciting legal issues related to disruptive technological innovations.

As part of our whip-smart team of in-house lawyers, you will take on challenging projects and cases that require creative and proactive legal guidance. You will collaborate with Googlers from various departments to influence business initiatives and advise on products that move information forward.

**Responsibilities**

  • Provide legal advice on Asia Pacific customs laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure trade compliance through import/export policies.
  • Support the business with customs classification, valuation, origin determination, and other import/export compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and identify/mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Manage internal and external customs audits/investigations and represent the company before customs authorities.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory developments and participate in industry groups.

**Requirements**

  • JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the position is located.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience working in customs and international trade law in private practice or in a multinational in-house team in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Experience with free trade agreements, preferential trade programs, and other duty mitigation schemes.
