Job Overview

The Business Director, Specimen Management Segment SEA role is a high-impact leadership position responsible for leading the Specimen Management business and delivering strategic and operational objectives.

This role involves full P&L responsibility and has a clear succession plan in place.



Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver overall business objectives for the SEA Specimen Management business with full P&L accountability.
  2. Increase market share and strengthen customer portfolio to achieve significant growth and gain relevance in the market.
  3. Establish and delegate operational objectives and assignments while optimizing resource allocation and projects between the various product areas to achieve sales results and OIBT goals.
  4. Develop and implement strategic sales, marketing, clinical, and service goals tailored to the evolving hybrid commercial model.
  5. Strengthen customer portfolio and increase market relevance through targeted commercial initiatives.
  6. Establish and manage relationships with customers, distributors, and regulatory bodies.
  7. Collaborate with regional and global platform teams to align on strategic direction and drive global initiatives locally.
  8. Participate in the SEA Leadership Team and contribute to broader country-level strategies.
  9. Provide leadership and development to cross-functional teams, including recent hires in sales, marketing, and clinical roles.
  10. Support in-country initiatives and projects as requested by the Country GM SEA or Regional VP.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Ideally, the candidate should have an MBA or other advanced graduate degree.

A minimum of 15 years of sales and marketing experience in consumables and instruments is required. Diagnostic industry experience is helpful but not mandatory.

Experience in setting direction and providing effective solutions and initiatives to manage a growing industry/market segment is essential.

Proven experience in managing P&L for a business and challenging, competitive environments with a track record of resilience and results is necessary.

Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset is required.

Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing cross-functional teams is essential.

Deep understanding of the SEAn healthcare market, including channel and distributor management is necessary.

Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and communication abilities are required.

Ability to work in a matric organisation is essential.
