Special Needs Support Specialist

As a Special Needs Teacher Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in preparing and producing engaging learning materials that cater to students' diverse needs
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them understand instructions and complete tasks effectively
  • Cover classes when teachers are away on leave or course by delivering lessons planned by the class teacher
  • Foster strong relationships with students by demonstrating empathy, care, and encouragement
  • Collaborate with teachers to determine individualized goals for each student, enhancing their development and progress
  • Assist teachers with data collection to understand student profiles and monitor their progress
  • Implement student behavioural plans and support in managing student behaviours under teacher supervision
  • Participate in extracurricular activities to enhance students' learning experiences
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities to facilitate knowledge and skills development
Requirements
  • Minimum GCE O-Level or WPLN Level 5 qualification for Teacher Aide positions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A heart to serve in the special needs sector
