Job Title: Assistant Director

The role of Assistant Director involves monitoring and conducting in-depth research on terrorism and security-related issues. This entails producing threat assessments to support Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) operations and policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, sense-make, and conduct deep research on terrorism and security-related issues
  • Assess information from multiple sources to identify patterns, risks, and emerging tactics and threats from extremist actors
  • Produce threat assessments, briefing reports, and strategic documents to support SAF operations and policy decision-making
  • Supervise junior analysts
Challenges:
  • Processing large volumes of fragmented and sometimes contradictory information
  • Adapting quickly to an ever-evolving threat landscape
  • Producing timely and accurate reports
Requirements:
  • Education in Strategic Studies, International Relations, Security Studies, Political Science, Terrorism Studies, or a related field
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience in a training, teaching, research, or HR capacity
  • Good analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good creative problem-solving, decision-making, strategic thinking, and knowledge management skills
