Cloud Engineer Position Overview

This position involves working as a cloud engineer to implement, manage and maintain scalable and efficient cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud infrastructure design, deployment and management.

The primary responsibilities include designing and implementing cloud infrastructure, configuring and securing cloud services, monitoring and responding to incidents, and automating internal processes using Infrastructure as Code tools.

Additionally, the role requires working with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, containers, and Terraform, contributing to open-source projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key qualifications for this position include a degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, experience with DevOps/SRE and cloud technologies, knowledge of cloud service providers and best practices around implementation and configuration, and proficiency in cloud-native technology and tools.

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure to support both internal and external facing services and applications across multiple cloud service providers.
  • Define and implement best practices around Cloud Service Provider configurations and security.
  • Define and implement best practices around infrastructure and application monitoring, and responding to incidents.
  • Work with automation extensively to manage infrastructure on the cloud using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and to automate internal processes such as CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with cloud native tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, containers, and Terraform among others.
  • Contribute to both internal and external open source projects.
