As an EXECUTIVE PROJECT ENGINEER, FARE SYSTEM RAIL PROJECTS, you will be responsible for managing projects to set up and renew Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems for new and existing rail lines.
About the Role
Gather requirements from all stakeholders and develop tender documents that meet project specifications and standards. Review design submissions to ensure alignment with project requirements. Oversee vendor deliverables to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards. Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues throughout project implementation. Participate in on-site activities, including testing and commissioning, to ensure smooth integration and operation of AFC systems. Monitor and perform regular performance assessments of AFC systems after implementation. Support the planning and implementation of asset renewal initiatives for existing AFC systems. Coordinate internal and external teams to drive project milestones and deliverables.
Requirements
A background knowledge in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics/Computer/Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related field is required. At least 3 years of relevant experience in project management of electro-mechanical and/or IT systems is necessary. Independent, resourceful, and agile individuals who can organize, plan, and supervise project activities through active site participation are preferred. Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. A strong aptitude and willingness to learn the technical knowledge of AFC systems are also required. Clear thinking and the ability to lead a small team of technical/site project staff are important qualities. The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently is a must. Experience in asset renewal, such as electronic module replacement and sustainability, may be preferred.
