Electrical Engineer - Subsea Vehicle Design

Fugro is the leading specialist in Geo-data, unlocking insights from the Earth to support safe, sustainable, and efficient operations across offshore renewables, oil & gas, and infrastructure.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of Fugro's transition from traditional hydraulic ROVs to next-generation, autonomous subsea vehicles. Your work will directly impact the development of sustainable, remotely operated technologies that reduce environmental footprint and enhance operational safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experienced electrical engineers on the design and development of ROV systems.
  • Work closely with R&D centers, internal production teams, and global operational teams for integration and testing in ROV products.
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create electrical designs for new ROV systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
  • Develop testing procedures and participate in testing and validation of designs together with workshop technicians.
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, part lists, specifications, and technical bulletins.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and work with vendors and contractors.
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in engineering design work.
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing electrical (Power LV and MV) and control systems.
  • Proficient in using CAD software such as SolidWorks, including electrical harness, AutoCAD / GStarCad, E3 or similar for electrical connection drawings.
  • Experience or proficiency in industry-recognized certificates such as DNV, ABS, Lloyds Register, BV, IECEx etc.
  • Experience in electrical component selections and incorporation into design.
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Self-motivated and great team worker.
