We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the identification, classification and interpretation of genetic variants. This involves collecting and analysing data to ensure the accuracy and consistency of results.

  • To support the identification, classification and interpretation of genetic variants by collecting and analysing data.
  • Data Collection & Management: Ensure the accuracy, consistency and proper documentation of data. Assist in preparing reports of NGS test results, update and manage variant data in database.
  • Variant Annotation & Curation: Help classify variants using available guidelines, prepare analysis data for interpretation, perform comprehensive review of scientific literature.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep records of variant analysis, assist in preparing reports or presentations on curated variants. Help with the preparation of manuscripts or research papers.
  • Provides administrative and management support: Coordination of educational programmes and multidisciplinary meetings with partners.
  • Coordinates the collection and processing of laboratory samples.
  • Coordinates multidisciplinary meetings eg variant curation meetings.
  • Preparation of grant review reports and submission of claims.
  • Work environment involves exposure to infectious and hazardous specimens or materials that are found in a typical medical testing laboratory environment. Abide by the laboratory etiquette, dress code and general standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Life Sciences/Health Sciences or related field.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and meticulous in performing tasks.
