Job Title: AS400 Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:
Lead and shape IBM infrastructure in a strategic IT environment, working on critical infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop long-term infrastructure strategies for AS400 systems, managing hardware, software, and network components.
  • Monitor and forecast system performance to ensure reliability, availability, and future scalability.
  • Implement security protocols and maintain regulatory compliance across the IBM iSeries environment.
  • Lead infrastructure projects while managing vendor relationships and service quality.
  • Work closely with application teams, business users, and project managers to align IT services with business needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science.
  • At least 10 years as an AS400 Administrator or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of IBM iSeries hardware, OS400, related software, SQL, CL, and tools like IBM iDoctor and Performance Manager.
  • Understanding of iSeries application structures, installation, troubleshooting, replication (CDC), scheduling (ROBOT), backup (BRMS), and encryption (SKLM).
  • Strong grasp of IT policies, procedures, security best practices, and experience implementing measures to maintain compliance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for data, application, and system performance issues, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Mature leadership capabilities, mentoring technical staff, and effective communication with teams and stakeholders.
